About Me

Are you always seen as ‘the strong one’ – the person others turn to for help and support? Does your appearance convey confidence and self-assurance, but inside you find yourself struggling and overwhelmed?

Following the events of the last two years, holding it all together can seem just that bit harder, with old coping mechanisms becoming increasingly difficult and often unsustainable. This sense of unease can affect your sleeping patterns, causing you to become irritable with those close to you, creating a state of anxiousness about any changes in your daily life. Situations that you might have once navigated with ease can now seem like a daunting prospect. If ‘just keep going’ is no longer working, then maybe it’s time to take that first step towards finding the support you know you need.

How I work

I work at your own pace, step-by-step, to help you gain insight into those triggers that may be causing you distress. These insights are important in dealing with unresolved events from the past. We can’t change the past, but we can understand how it affects us and our actions today.

By giving you the space to explore and talk trough your life experiences, we can help normalise those feelings and anxieties that seem overwhelming, and could be stopping you from reaching your full potential. Together we will look at tools and techniques that will equip you with ways to effectively cope and manage life’s challenges, bringing you freedom and relief.

I offer a safe, confidential, and comfortable space to support your journey. My clients are always welcomed into a warm, friendly environment, with compassion and understanding. My passion is watching people regain their confidence and reconnect with their sense of worth and value.

about bringing counselling

Getting started with me

Like to get in contact? Simply use the email or phone number provided. We will have an initial chat over the phone to discuss what has brought to you counselling, as well as asking any questions you may have. This also gives you the opportunity to decide if I am the right counsellor for you, and if I can offer exactly what you’re looking for on your counselling journey.

I have been a counsellor for ten years, after working in a college as a learning support assistant I noticed how the students’ often chaotic and at times traumatic backgrounds hindered their education which led me into training to be a counsellor. I did my foundational courses at West Kent College, moving onto a college in South Norwood to do my Diploma in Integrative Counselling awarded by the CPCAB. I received my accreditation with the British Association of Psychotherapists and Counsellors (BACP) 2018.

My approach integrates the psychodynamic with the person-centred and cognitive therapies which I believe offer insight and understanding into how we develop and relate to each other. I also look at how the past impacts the present and I believe this approach offers a way forward to reach a client’s full potential.

I think the relationship between the client and myself is key to the work of the therapy in building trust and safety.
